This exquisite pietersite is select. Deep blue/black is the canvas upon which the bluish silver chatoyancy dances about like spirits. Fine pietersite can pull in to a trance as the movement of the light and, shadow and color dance within. In the fascinating mix appears the deep gold painterly expression. Reminiscent of deep blue satin material silkiness, the chatoyancy of reflected light ripples throughout, making it, quite honestly, difficult to photograph. Like opal, the the light undulates across the pietersite. The striking iridescence is comparable to the northern lights disappearing, then reappearing again, with subtle movement of the ring.
Mike Braun's bold ring is a massive pietersite measures 19mm x17mm. It is set in a 14KY bezel and floats in a concave dish of deep texture. Except for the textured dish, the top of the ring is a high polish. The sides and bottom of the ring are textured.
