Northern Lights Landscape is a composition of Boulder Opal (origin - Dowdy Mine Australia), 2.25 mm faceted London blue topaz and a duet of Fall seed pods. Primarily, the Boulder Opal radiates aqua blues, luminous flashes of teal color which are accented with a lilac purple and lime green. The bronze and nutmeg browns are the natural 'mother stone or matrix" from which the opal was mined. Leaving the matrix not only creates interest and depth of color, but contrast to the color within.
You will notice the variety of opal colors and appearances from the Dowdy Mine are surprisingly broad. Choosing a small selection for Joanne and Kevin Dowdy is wildly challenging.
