Looking at the body of Lori Braun's work, you will quickly see that she has a soft spot for "Lakers". This splendidly selected and cut "tear" shaped Lake Superior agate has all of the desirable characteristics of a Lake Superior agate, plus the ever coveted eyes! There are 4 large caramel and pink quartz colored eyes and a few smaller ones that visually pop out of the iron red semi-translucent red.
An embellished, substantial bezel, holds this distinctive Lake Superior agate specimen. The subtle 14KY circles on the sterling silver bail smile sweetly upon the rare agate eyes below. It is sure to attract the envy of any other agate hunter and most certainly the curiosity of is origin. For those who roam the shores of the Mississippi or Lake Superior hunting for the rich unusual agate treasures found there, the "eyes" of this agate will be an automatic conversation starter. Lori has found a spectacular specimen and set it in a lovely setting. It is a "one of a kind".
In 1969 the Lake Superior agate was designated by the Minnesota Legislature as the official state gemstone. A fantastic choice, indeed.
