18mm x 15mm Oval Faceted Rose Cut Labradorite, 2.5mm Round Faceted Tourmaline and Sterling Silver Fox Pendant by Rebecca of BNOX $685.00
Cast sterling silver maple branches, and layers of textured and pierced silver camouflage a peaking fox. Oxidation, contrasted with high polish accentuate the 3 dimensional foliage. Small accents of 14KY appear around each stone.
The labradorite is brighter than most of the pictures indicate. The labradorite, a beloved gem, Like the Northern Lights, it has a chatoyancy with hues of aqua blue and greenish gold that dance about it's facets.
Simplified shapes are cut away from behind the labradorite, forming Lake Pepin, honoring the inspiration it provides Rebecca in her jewelry creations.
Walks out on the blue Winter dessert called Lake Pepin, with the experience of being suddenly aware of her tracks melding with fox prints in the snow, inspired Rebecca to write a poem called "I Am Fox". It encompasses the rapidly changing colors of Winter sunset into cold dusk on a snowy landscape, and a shapeshifting human into fox.
This poem is in progress, but will accompany this fox pendant upon completion.
