Thomsonite Sterling 14KY Ring by Lori Braun RG144  $470.00

Lori Braun has framed this fine specimen of thomsonite in a simple smooth sterling silver bezel.  Three 14KY wraps are placed on either side of the Thomsonite.  This is liken to many ancient Egyptian rings.  The 14KY gold accents the asymmetrical shapes of color and visually holds the thomsonite beautifully.

You'll find the colorless, white, beige/pink and pine greens to be a Michigan and Minnesota rare find, and a rockhounder's prize.

The almost oval Thomsonite cabochon measures approximately 9 x 12mm

This pendant is Minnesota made and  a "one of a kind" by Lori Braun

"IRON COUNTY: Thomsonite-Ca occurs abundantly in outcrops of the Porcupine volcanics along the Montreal River below the dam along Saxon flowage. The thomsonite occurs as coarse radiating bladed crystals in cavities and veins associated with lava flow tops."  Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey, University of Wisconsin Madison

"Thomsonite occurs with other zeolites in the amygdaloidal cavities of basaltic volcanic rocks, and occasionally in granitic pegmatites. Examples have been found in Faroe Islands (var. Faroelite), Scotland, Arkansas, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Ontario, Nova Scotia, India, and Russia." Wikipedia
