Larimar Green Diamond 14KY Sterling Pendant by Lori Braun PT920 $590.00
This larimar is mesmerizing. It appears to be liken to bubbling clear blue waters falling into a pool, or like a colorful sea shell. The blues vary from bluish white of a snowflake, to a light teal, to the deep sky blue at dusk.
The green diamond subtly accents the light seafoam blue greens in the larimar.
Lori Braun carved a heavy texture on the pendant cap to contrast the aquatic texture of the larimar, then accented it with the diamond and three 14KY beads. The back side hides one more. Nice touch, Lori.

According to Gemological Institute of America "Blue pectolite from the Dominican Republic, also known by the trade name Larimar, has recently entered the U.S. market. Large quantities of this attractive ornamental stone have been found in cavities and veins of altered basalt. Most of the gemological properties are consistent with those previously reported for pectolite; the cause of color in this material is believed to be related to the presence of small amounts of Cu2+. The color appears to be stable to light, but does react to irradiation and to the heat of a jeweler's torch. It is easily separated from similar-appearing materials.
