Spectrolite labradorite Sterling necklace by Judy Knose and Lori Braun

Regular price $785.00 Sale

Judy Knose and Lori Braun collaborated to create this opulent spectrolite, labradorite and sterling necklace.  Lori skillfully, in a Asian minimalist style, set the spectrolite in sterling with a dash of 14KY.  Judy dipped in to her cache of lavish and lovely gem strands and sterling accent beads to produce this piece of art jewelry.  At 23" total, the spectrolite is the focal point of this strand.  Let your eye wonder upward and you will find sterling organic twig-looking beads that may also resemble coral and a graduating strand of labradorite, smooth nugget beads, until reaching the sterling, double flower clasp, resembling windswept chrysanthemums.

Labradorite is known for its remarkable iridescence. This schiller or metallic luster can be seen when light hits the stone from particular angles. in the case of these graduated labradorite nugget beads, the metallic tints are aqua, blue, light green and gold. This effect is so unique to labradorite that it is referred to as labradorescence.  As you move the labradorite appears to have a breath of it own.  It is always intriguing to those who know of it and to those who don't.  It beckons a closer look.

Some rare specimens of labradorite display a full spectrum of colors, not only blues and greens; but also yellow, orange. These rare specimens have been given the name spectrolite.

Labradorite is, across the board, has proven to be the most well loved gemstone at BNOX over the years.  Everyone loves it.

The spectrolite pendant measures approximately 1 3/8" x 3/4" from bail to bottom.  Shield shape spectrolite itself measures approximately 14 x 23 mm.

Necklace is 23"

Both Judy Knose and Lori Braun are from Minnesota.  This is one of the many  collaborated piece of jewelry they have made together.

This is a 'one of a kind".
